Before Dentistry, Shontelle worked as a pharmacy assistant and had no background knowledge of the dental industry, now four years later she is one of our highly valued Practice Managers.
Working her way up from chair side assistant to Manger status did not take long, as anyone can clearly see that Shon is hard working and dedicated to making everything run smoothly so that patients are comfortable and staff are happy.
On her days off you can most likely find Shon adventuring outdoors with her partner and her fur baby Mac. She also enjoys taking timeout to relax at the beach or to get dressed up and to sip on some fruity cocktails. Something that may surprise a lot of our patients is that Shontelle has represented Australia Three times in Synchronised Ice Skating and her last event took her to Austria to compete!
Kimmy is one of our highly valued Practice managers, obtaining her Cert III in Dental Assisting in 2016 with 2 years prior dental experience she knows what it takes to handle the busy front desk at our family practice.
From time to time you might find her assisting but she enjoys nothing more than greeting our patients with a warm smile and good chit chat.
If you can’t find her having a laugh with Shon and Keely on the front desk, you could probably find her out the back getting a snack or at home enjoying the company of her family and friends, playing games, getting crafty, or being yelled at by her Ragdoll cat “Memphis”.
Since going through her own orthodontic treatment Keely had a passion to be in the dental industry.
Currently studying Dental Prosthetics with TAFE and looking to gain further experience within the dental field we are more than happy to be the ones to help her down that path. Joining GFD towards the end on 2020 Keely has quickly proved that she is a valued part of the front office team. As Keely has had no previous dental experience she is keen to try her hand in the room and start assisting to gain more knowledge of all things dental. When Keely has spare time, you can often find her at the gym, camping, going to the beach, travelling to visit her family in Cairns or anywhere outdoors with her friends.
Kyra moved from WA to Brisbane in 2018 and started working as a remedial massage therapist. She enjoyed her visits to the dentist when she was younger so much, so she recently started studying her cert 3 in Dental Assisting and applied here at GFD to complete her placement.
We knew Kyra would be a great fit for our team, so we offered for her to complete her placement and a part-time job too. Whilst Kyra loved taking care of her patients for their massages, her skills as a remedial therapist haven’t gone to waste when she is giving out massages to all the staff! When Kyra isn’t in the clinic, she enjoys reading fantasy novels, watching movies, and making candles. Kyra enjoys spending quality time with her partner and fur baby Radar.
Amanda is one of the most wonderful and carefree assistants within our clinic. That’s not to say that she does not take her job seriously but someone who will always manage to make the best out of a stressful day.
Originally from Malaysia Amanda holds a Diploma in Early Childhood Education and loves to challenge herself with new things which is what brought her to us! Amanda quickly found that she loves all aspects and challenges that are involved in the dental industry and is looking to forward her studies in the future.
Stephy has been a part of the team since 2014, starting her Cert III in Dental Assisting through TAFE at South Bank she soon found herself absolutely enjoying what she does.
Paired with her gentle and caring nature she is looking to further her studies to become a dental hygienist so that she is able to work more closely with kids to make them feel more comfortable about going to the dentist. Stephy loves to go hiking in her spare time and you can always find her family close behind her. When she isn’t spending time hiking, she is with her friends’ chatting away in one of the THREE languages she is fluent in. If you ever have a cute new addition that happens to have fluffy covered ears and a tail, let Stephy know!
One of our newest girls, Jayden has quickly proved how well she is able to strive in the fast paced dental environment.
You can constantly see her running around the practice lending her time to anyone and everyone who needs help – which she has had a lot of practice in as she spent two years in Canada leading groups of people to help the homeless, mothers groups and communities across America, Alaska and France. When Jayden isn’t in the clinic you can generally find her outside enjoying the sunshine or scouting locations for picturesque backdrops for her portrait photography.
Lauren is one of the newest members to the Grange Family Dental team! Lauren is currently studying commerce at UQ and is hoping to be accepted into Law in 2022.
Previously a medical receptionist Lauren had a passion for helping and wished to expand her knowledge in the medical field. Lauren loves playing with her dogs, Milo and chip. She enjoys going to the beach, hanging out with her friends and her family. When she isn’t with her friends you can find her watching and playing all sports particularly soccer where she coaches juniors at a local high school.
Our wonderful Rose has come to us from a long way away - she grew up on her family’s cattle property, Prairie in the town of Capella.
Rose came to Brisbane for boarding school and has been going back and forth ever since. Rose loves helping in surgery particularly for the regular cleans and experiencing the visual transformation a crown has. A hobby of Roses is trying out new restaurants around Brisbane and cooking a variety of dishes. Her favourite cuisine is Japanese. Outside of work and eating fancy dishes you’ll find Rose going on hikes, watching a movie, or visiting her favourite artist Henri Matisse in an exhibition.
